A member asked:

I have diarrhea everyday and the dr prescribed prevalite, (cholestyramine) but i am still having accidents where i mess myself, what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diarrhea: Severe diarrhea and incontinence are not likely to be alleviated by Cholestyramine alone without a specific etiology of the GI abnormalities delineated. Go see a gastroenterologist and be fully evaluated. This does not sound like a simple irritable bowel syndrome, but only a full work-up will tell. Hope you are better soon.
