Too close to eating: If you exercise when your stomach is full it can cause nausea and sometimes vomiting. An hour or so before exercise you should try to eat a light meal of mostly carbohydrate and some protein but low fat which slows stomach emptying. In the 15 minutes after exercise you should eat as well to reload and rebuild your muscles. You want to avoid a full stomach right before exercise though.
