Fibrocystic: The breast is largely glands and fatty tissue. The glands can sometimes swell (usually due to hormone fluctuations during the cycle) and can cause tenderness. These fibrocystic changes are common and the pain is usually intermittant.

Mastalgia: Mastalgia is the medicla term for breast pain & tenderness & is very common. Some women have it constantly, some have it only around time of their menses. Evening primrose oil is well known to help, as is tight fitting bra & advil (ibuprofen) as needed. Regarding your specific questions, I do nothave enough info to give you a good answer. Best bet is to speak with your own doc more. Good luck!
