My pulse goes up to 96 when i lay down. 74 when i sit up. what could cause this?

Unlikely: Timing is everything. I doubt your measurements are accurate because they're not physiologic. Try lying down and being still for 10 minutes and count your pulse. Then try sitting up for 10 minutes. Your pulse will likely be within 10 beats both ways and, if anything, faster sitting up.
