Check small bowel: Aside from checking for infections, parasites, etc. Would make sure rest of small bowel is ok. Make sure no celiac sprue (screen with blood tests), or crohn's diseade ( various radiology tests and/or capsule endoscopy-evaluation may depend on insurance).
