A member asked:

I have a hole in my upper ear, just wondering what it is. i was born with it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ear dimple: If the hole is in the soft part of the ear adjoining the temple, it probably had to do with a part of the embryo that did not disappear during your development. It often is a dimple or pit. If you can express fluid from it, it may be connected to a tube under the skin. Ask your doctor whether it is a dermal dimple or sinus.
