Went to er this a.m; i'm ok, but when i left, the room across the hall had been closed w/ an "isolation station" w/gloves on the door. why? im scared!

Should be fine. : Most rooms labeled that are for good reason, but the air flow in hospitals are designed so that if isolation is needed air exchange is precluded from common areas like a hall. No worries you should be fie.

Don't worry.: As long as you did not go visit in that person's room...For several minutes...Then you have nothing to worry about. There are many conditions that cause pt's to be protected from "us" or us be protected from them. Could be an infectious process, or could be immune suppression from cancer or other things. Good er care does not "share" conditions amongst patients.
