Type of iud: This could be known side effect of iud especially paragard 10 years iud Other reasons could include obesity or polyp Medical exam is important to determine the reason

Iud last long time: IUD lasts at least 3 years and longer depends on type. I dont know why your periods are irregular There r a lot of reasons for that. I highly recommend you have a yearly gyne chechup and have your doc determine the reason.
