DTs: If you discontinue alcohol abruptly, you may go into so called "dts". This stands for delirium tremens - an acute, life threatening condition caused by abrupt cessation of alcohol intake. It is manifested by hallucinations, auditory (voices) and visual, combativeness, insomnia, psychomotor excitation, high risk of suicide and violence. People in this condition must be hospitalized.

Depends: On how much you were drinking how often. If you are dependent on alcohol, you may have the shakes (tremor), anxiety, insomnia and nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, headache and other symptoms. If not, you may experience some irritability and craving for alcohol. Get involved with peer support like alcoholics anonymous or smart recovery, or talk to your doctor about a referral for formal groups.Good luck.
