My b/p was taken during our wellness day physicals. my bp was first 185/140 and then 178/140. what do i do know.

With BP readings that high you should have been referred to a hospital and I would have expected you to have some symptoms such as headache, shortness of breath, dizziness and even chest pain. I might even consider the validity of those readings. Depending on the size of your arm the size of the BP cuff is very important and can give erroneous results. You should have your BP check by your MD

Assuming taken properly (an accurate device that works on you) this is considered a level of BP that needing immediate attention. If you go to hyperaldoseronism@groups.io & read PaulK's story u will learn about someone your age with the same story who has now been dealing for 45 years with the cause of his severe high blood pressure called Conn's syndrome. If it had checked he would be dead now
