Can a dr perscibe 20 mg of ambien (zolpidem) 10 does nothing for me and cr is even worse btw i remember my night wake ups. i had gastric bypas wil this lessen it?

Ambien (zolpidem): Not advisable to take more than 10mg. Ambien or 12.5mg. Ambien-cr. Discuss with your doc. Possible other alternatives to ambien, such as lunesta (eszopiclone).

Look to other option: Use excellent sleep hygiene. Ask your doctor if you need a sleep medicine consult. I would avoid getting used to taking excessive amounts of sleeping medications.
