I want to reduce the amount of ambien (zolpidem) i take. i have 12.5 ambiencr and want to know if i cut 1 in half would that essentially make it a 6.25ir?

Do not cut: The CR pill is coated in a way that controls the time/speed the medication is released. Cutting it does not make it in to an IR formulation, it just makes the way the medicine will enter your system very unpredictable-not a good idea for a med with potential for serious side effects. Your doctor likely will appreciate your efforts to reduce your dose-call and ask for a new prescription.
