Not generally : Nerve pain in general is more an inconvenience than anything to really worry about. But you should get to the bottom of it if it's bothering you. This could be referred from your back due to arthritis or it could be a hip problem altogether. Only an exam can shed more light on this so have yourself seen.

Neuropathy: You should be seen to determine the cause of the pain. While it may be a mild disturbance that could be treated with over-the-counter medications, it would be best to rule out any other disorders such as a pinched nerve or other similar disorder.
