Need confirmation: If you have developed a new infection while taking therapeutic amounts of an antibiotic, it is either viral, for which antibiotics are useless, or a bacteria unaffected by the medication you are taking.Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is seldom used for strep since the simple penicillin family is so effective & i find no listing of its use for strep. If you are concerned that it is strep, a simple ofice test can confirm it.
