Simply put: The simplest treatments are avoidance of any exacerbating factors. These are commonly caffeine (coffee, tea, soda), chocolate, spicy foods, and emotional stress. There are several forms of ibs (diarrhea and constipation predominant). Increasing or decreasing fiber may also help symptoms. Regular exercise helps as well.
