My iron has always been 14 or higher. i went to donate blood on christmas eve and it was 11.6, now it is 9. what can cause such a rapid drop? advice?

Anemia...: Anemia (low hemoglobin) is caused by the body losing blood, red blood cell instability (hemoglobinopathies), destruction (hemolysis), or the bodies inability to produce new red blood cells, or a combination of these. I would be concerned about hemolysis with a rapid drop. Has your urine turned dark in color? Yellowness in eyes or skin? You need to see doctor now for further workup.
