No there is no risk: Vaginal exams are performed with a sterile speculum. Even though approximately 25% of women are colonized with group b strep, it is highly unlikely that the speculum would enter the uterus to transmit the bacteria to the fetus.

No: GBS is a germ commonly found in the human gut. There is such a short distance between the poop exit & vagina, than up to 1/3 of women will have GBS living in their genital tract at any moment. It comes & goes at random but is monitored in pregnancy because of its risk to newborns. If you carry it late in pregnancy you are given IV antibiotics when in labor to avoid passage to the baby.
