Pain and itching: Varicose veins often cause pain and itching. If you have varicose veins and you have pain and itching in that leg, i would recommend that you see a vein specialist for an evaluation that includes a venous ultrasound. That way you will be able to know if your veins are the likely cause of your symptoms or not and, if so, what can be done to make it better.

Varicose veins: the symptoms of itching and pain could be as result of the varicose veins. The pain occurs due to venous pooling, and the itching occurs secondary to blood leakage from these veins causing a skin irritation. Evaluation by venous Doppler-sonogram will identify if you have venous reflux, and if so based on your symptoms treatment would be recommended
