A member asked:

Are dental bridges and implants comfortable? how do they work?

Yes: Made properly, bridges and implants are very comfortable. You should not even know they are there. Implants are the best way to replace missing teeth, as they are the closest thing to a tooth which can be placed. Bridges put forces on the teeth which support the pontic of the bridge which could lead to their breakdown.

Absolutely: Fixed prosthetics are designed and fabricated to replace the form and function of the missing teeth. They are comfortable and esthetic. They work by mimicing the missing tooth structure.

Yes: Dental implants are considered to be the most comfortable option available. Other tooth replacement techniques only replace the upper part of the tooth, and must be supported by the gums or by existing teeth. Implants are embedded in the bone, and they fully support the crown, bridge, or denture. Hence the appearance, strength, size, shape, and sensations when chewing closely mimic healthy teeth.

They are comfortable: Implant supported dental bridges are more comfortable than dental bridges, allowing you to retain a more natural biting and chewing capacity. In addition, because implant-supported dental bridges will replace some of your tooth roots, your bone is better preserved. Good luck.

Consult with dentist: Speak to a patient that had a lower denture, then had an implant supported prosthesis. Usually, the difference it makes for the patient is tremendous.
