Steroid diabetes: If your glu is in the 300 mg% range, you are on Prednisone and have diabetes on metformin, you may need more meds; just an increase in metformin may not be enough. You can try to limit your carbs, but steroids have serious effects on diabetes. Some people need to be on Insulin temporarily. See your doctor. Much depends on how long you will need to be on prednisone.
