18- 22 years: Many pediatricians have been trained in adolescent medicine during residency. As the early 20's are an extension of adolescence transitioning to adulthood, they may continue to see their pediatrician with whom they have developed a relationship to aid in that transition. Can be helpful during the college yrs. Your teen should ask your pedi before making a decision so that it's a mutual decision.
