Treat him as normal: Children learn how to behave by watching others - especially their mothers. He may not have normal social and verbal skills, but will learn them with your help. Both you and he would benefit from training in aba with an appropriate behavior program. Read books by temple grandin (the way i see it). If you expect him to be normal, that is what he will learn!

Over-reacting or : Under-reacting to input from any of the 5 senses is part of autism, tho not part of the dsm diagnosis. If your son's intellectual ability is in the normal range, exposure-response avoidance therapy may work. If not, his aba therapist can help. I've had some success with noise-cancellation headphones (e.g., bose), tho i've also had to use a Risperdal m-tab for some patients for specific events.

Help! my autistic son bites everyone! how do I make it stop?

Depends on cause: Patients with autism may bite for several reasons depending on the age and level of functioning. If he is really young it may be an exagerration of a behavior many young children exhibit. Determining the triggers and the benefit he gets from the biting are necessary to develop a plan to decrease the behavior. You also need to make sure that pain is not the cause of the biting.
