Try this: Granulomatous mastitis can be an ongoing problem. The cause is unknown. Steroids can be effective in some, while others try non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. There is an association with granulomatous mastitis and colonization/infection with corynebacterium, a class of bacteria. I have has a good response using a combination of steroids and Doxycycline for this problem.

Antibiotics: I have had better luck with excision surgery and antibiotics, not steroids.
