Pain relief: Tylenol (acetaminophen) will help with regulating the temperature and pain as will motrin. Viscous Lidocaine can also help provide topical relief. If still not better you can go to the er for an injection of tordol or a prescription for ketorolac, the best non narcotic pain medication in my opinion but can increase the risk of bleeding acutely after tonsillectomy. Before considering this discuss with your surgeon.
