A member asked:

My mother has a pea sized brain aneurysm is it possible that they may not be able to do anything about this?

Yes: It will depend on exactly what the aneurysm looks like, where it is, and the size. If nothing can be done at this point, they will monitor the aneurysm until it can/needs intervention. Also, there are new tools/devices out everyday, and chances are, it can be treated. Find a good neurointerventional physician (usually a neuroradiologist or neurosurgeon).

Aneurysm: The average size of a large size pea is 5mm, in general terms depending on the location of the lesion, the rupture rate of aneurysms under 7mm is negligible. Consult a neurosurgeon for confirmation of this fact.
