First, get evaluated: To see if you require treatment. Many people do not. Currently, treatments still use interferon, an injectable drug that has a fair amount of side effects, but new regimens that are entirely oral are on the way.

Coming soon: One of the best websites to follow breaking news on hepatitis c drug development is natap.Org. You will see that we expect a regimen that is two different pills taken for 12 weeks to be approved by the end of this year for genotype 2 hcv. Anything can happen in drug development but watch for gilead filing their drug application with fda and conference news.
