A 23-year-old female asked:

Best way to rid of a chronic "viral" cough that has lasted for 9 weeks? i have been to two doctors who cleared me for whooping cough and any infection

Dr. Tim Conrad
Ophthalmology 36 years experience
Allergies: This is not likely viral but is very likely allergic. You could start with an over-the-counter allergy medication like Allegra or zyrtec. Use a neti-pot to clean your nose. Drink lots of water. You may need a nasal steroid but you will need to a doctor for that. Good luck!
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
