Blood pressure log: No need to explain to doc, we know about this. What you need to do is start taking and recording your blood pressures. You can get a quality blood pressure cuff off the internet. Make sure you check it against your doctor's to make sure they agree. This log will help your doc decide whether or not you have hypertension.

You dont have to.: White coat syndrome is a common cause of elevated blood pressure and is usually checked at the office. Home BP kits are the best way to detect white coat htn. Commonly, after 5-10 min in the room, we recheck the pressure and it is lower. Your doc is aware of this and therefore you don't have to explain it to him/her.
