Unlikely...: There is no evidence that migraine has a long-term effect on the function of the brain or has long-term neurological consequences for the patient. There is abundant evidence, however, that migraine sufferers with a history of aura are at a twofold increased risk of stroke. White matter hyperintense lesions can show up on MRI in migraine patients, but we don't know significance of these findings.
