Is it true that breast lift can be reversed overtime?

Yes, to some degree: A breast lift or mastopexy is the surgical lifting and tightening of the breast that may have drooped with time and pregnancy. Some recurrence can occur with time, as gravity never wants to let up.

Results may change: Breast lifting is a very effective procedure for helping drooping breasts, however, no result can be considered a permanent thing. Aging processes and weight changes (plus other factors) will gradually impact the achieved results. These changes are very slow, and the procedure usually offers years of improvement in appearance and comfort.

Yes: Yes, breasts may change over time, especially if the patient experiences pregnancies and/or significant weight gain/loss. Additionally, factors such as genetics, loss of skin elasticity as well as ongoing time/gravity play roles. For these reasons, the “ideal” patient for breast lifting is one who has completed pregnancies and/or weight gain/loss and has achieved a long-term stable weight.

Long lasting lifts: A breast lift can lose its shape with time. Things that cause the breasts to sag are pregnancies, breast feeding and weight fluctuations. That is why you should wait until you are done with kids to have one. Maintain your weight stable and always wear a good supporting bra to get the most out of your lift.

Lift reversal- time: Plastic surgeons generally don't try to reverse breast lifts unless the nipples have been placed too high by someone. If you are wondering whether the results undo or that your breasts sag again then unfortunately mother nature does not stay static&yes they will start to sag but usually not as bad and it takes many years. The other variable is you, weight gain/loss, pregnancies or other surgeries.

Breast lifts do not stop the aging process. Gravity and time will cause the breast to age including loss of superior fullness and sagging in most.
