Elevated TSH: Tsh (thyroid stimulating hormone) is produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. When the circulating thyroid hormone (produced by thyroid gland) is insufficient as in hypothyroidism, the TSH goes up. If there is too much circulating thyroid hormone as in hyperthyroidism, the TSH goes way down. So with your elevated tsh, i would guess you are hypothyroid. This is always confusing. Good luck.
