Typical spinal : Stenosis symptoms in the lumbar spine are pains radiating to the leg(s) with progressive standing and walking relieved by bending over or sitting while a disc herniation causes pain into the leg(s) worse with sitting and bending and usually better standing or walking. Both feel better typically lying down. Obviously, there are variables based on several factors in terms of symptom presentation.

depends: Lumbar spinal stenosis typically presents as low back pain that improved when you flex your spine. It may also cause pain in the legs on walking, called "neurogenic claudication." herniated discs can also cause back pain that occasionally radiates into the legs. An MRI of your lumbar spine will help determine which condition you have.
