? asthma: Being around "chemicals" with strong odors can trigger some people to have bronchospasm resulting in persistent coughing. Or you could have been exposed to a bacteria known as pertussis, whooping cough, and have a prolonged cough for up to 3-4 months. It would be best for md to eval your lungs to make accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
