Not likely: Most people who develop ALS are between the ages of 40 and 70, with an average age of 55 at the time of diagnosis. However, cases of the disease do occur in persons in their twenties and thirties. Generally though, ALS occurs in greater percentages as men and women grow older. From: http://www.Alsa.Org hope this helps. The 15 yr old may need the symptoms evaluated by a neurologist.

Very unlikely: Why is this a concern? What symptoms cause this consideration? See a pediatrician, get evaluated for whatever ails the adolescent, and get it stabilized. Would be very unique to see ALS at age 15!!
