Twitches: There are many conditions that cause muscles to twitch. Many of these are either benign (cramp fasciculation syndrome or benign fasciculation syndrome) or more significant like channelopathies in which muscle and nerves are unstable and result in frequent twitches. 17 year old rarely have motor neuron disease and even less frequently when they do have motor neuron disease is it ALS.
