Is there over-the-counter medicine similar to synthroid (thyroxine) i can take? i know i have another thyroid issue but drs won't prescribe since levels r normal?

Nothing.: Synthroid / levothyroxine is the only medication that acts like it does. There is no over the counter substitute. Depending upon the symptoms you want to treat, maybe exercise, better or more sleep or stimulants such as coffee / tea would be a good choice. If levels are repeatedly normal you may want to consider that maybe your doctors are right and you do not have a thyroid issue.

Thyroid Tx.: There is no OTC alternative to thyroid medication and, quite frankly, if your blood levels are normal you don't need any corrective treatment, OTC or otherwise.
