Ask Endodontist: Get the recommendation from the endodontist who treated the tooth. They know what the findings were and can best make that judgement. Meanwhile -- stay off that tooth, for fear of nonrestorable fracture.

12 days ok: The temporary filling is not meant to last longer than a few weeks to a month before it starts to break down, so stay on the medication and have the buildup done when you see your general dentist. A good rule of thumb is to stay away from chewing on that tooth until that is completed.
