Of course: Anytime you feel something is wrong...Get it checked out. You will feel better and knowing is better than not knowing. Hopefully it will be nothing.

Yes, immediately: The bump on the inside of your mouth can be a symptom of an infection or another atypical oral lesion. This warrants immediate attention by a dentist since it has been there for an extended period of time.

Bump: Any pain, bleeding, or (as in your case) swelling, requires evaluation. Most probably benign, but please see your Dentist for examination and, if necessary, imaging/lab tests/biopsy.
