Posib. renal disease: First rule out orthostatic proteinuria (only present when up and about) repeat urinalysis first thing in am, after emptying bladder about 2 hrs after going to bed. No concern if am urine is protein free. Otherwise best to consult a nephrologist to rule out & if necessary to treat glomerulonephritis, or nephrotic syndrome if ankle swelling +/or eye-lids puffy.
