Kratom: Kratom is an herb from southeast asia, in the coffee family -- and at lower doses, it provides an energy boost. But at higher doses, it affects the same brain receptors that opiates do. Even its promoters warn against daily use. The "special concerns" are similar to treating heroin/other opiate addiction & withdrawal, and the fact that the drug is still legal.
