Ride it out: The symptoms really just sound like a good old cold. The yellow color of the mucous means the body has sent white blood cells to the area to help fight the infection. If symptoms less than 7 days, no high fever and no significant pain ("mommy my ear really hurts"), then use supportive care of fluids, rest, humidity and love. If over 7 days or other bad symptoms, see doctor.
