A member asked:

When does a seizure normally happen after your last drink?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Typically,: If one is truly an alcoholic, drinking quite heavily on a consistent basis, sudden cessation and subsequent abstinence, could result in a withdrawal seizure btwn 6 and 96 hrs following the last alcohol usage. The seizure may be the first sign of impending delirium tremens. If this applies to you or someone close, the full situation requires immediate medical attention.
