See your primary: If it is during office hours see your internist or a pulmonologist. I prefer to save the er for true emergencies and unless you cannot breathe it is not. Try some Motrin see if the pain subsides and if persists see the doctor above.

Acute bronchitis...: Acute bronchitis can be either bacterial or viral in origin. If you have a viral bronchitis, antibiotics do not treat it. A viral bronchitis will run its course over the next 7 days or so. If you have increasing shortness of breath, a high fever, unable to keep any fluids down or if your symptoms are worsening or not resolving within 7 days, then go to er. Feel better soon!
