Clindamycin : You are right that GI issues is possible but not in most cases. Unless you have predetermined risk factors most patients that take the medication will be okay. If you take it and you do get it, go to your doctors.

Allergic?: Why clinda? I guess you are allergic to pennicilllin. If you never had colitis pseudo. It is very rare you will develop problems however any antibiotic can cause symptoms. If you are scared of clinda ask your dentist about zpak.

You should also take a high dose probiotic like vsl#3 plus florastor to prevent antibiotic associated and c. Difficile diarrhea. If you develop diarrhea during or after treatment have your stool checked for c. Difficile toxin. Do not take Imodium (loperamide) or lomotil.
