Not really: Not really.Silver nitrate is very caustic and can cause serious burns if applied improperly.Best done by an experienced hand.

Not good idea: I suppose you could do that, but i would not advise it. Silver nitrate sticks work well for active bleeding, but likely would not do much more that make this sore hurt more and possibly delay healing.Better to rinse with salt water. You can apply orajel to the area for comfort while eating if needed. Dry with cotton tip and apply. Anything stronger and you risk increased irritation.
