Hi. i think i have a canker sore on my lip. it looks like the description i've read online. but i think they only grow inside the mouth. help....

May have: A canker sore is more common inside the mouth and a herpes sore is more commonly found on or around the lips... Different treatment.. Usually antiviral drug that requires a prescription... See your dentist or physician for an evaluation and treatment.

Mucous membrane: The picture shows that it is still confined to the mucous membrane and not skin. This is compatible with canker sore.
