Many causes: Epsteinn barr virus can cause this but there areany causes of canker sores. Please see your doctor for a diagnoses and treatment.

Consult in order: You need to see a dentist (or physician) who can see if the lesion is in fact a canker sore or something else. You can also have more than one issue at the same time. If the only symptom is the one sore, see a dentist, otherwise see your physician for a thorough medical evaluation.
