A member asked:

My boyfriend is an avid triathlete and ended up with a 95% block in the lad and had a stent placed. why would he still have chest pressure and sob?

LAD stent: Your friend should not be having chest pain and shortness of breath if the LAD block was stented successfully and it was the only problem. It is necessary to report these symptoms and be re-evaluated for other problems e.g. Silent heart attacks, congestive heart failure, failure of the stent, blood clots and other problems. It is wise to see the doctor frequently and meanwhile follow directions.

Chest pain: Obviously he had a coronary event, may be an heart attack after which he was found to have 90% LAD lesion and got stented. The reason for continued CP and sob could be due to 1. May still have some diffuse disease in other arteries 2. May have congestive heart failure with low ejection fraction because of heart muscle damage. Let the cardiologist be aware of this so that he can help.
