Omeprazole long term: To what sort of bleeding do u refer—spitting up blood, or rectal bleeding? Hematemesis might more commonly be related to bleeding ulcer(s), esophageal tears, or esophageal varices (varicose veins in esophagus). Hematochezia could result from clostridium difficile diarrhea associated with long-term ppi (omeprazole & others) use. See prescribing doc or GI specialist.
