Hyperthyroidism: Many people feel anxiety or "revved up"due to hyperthyroidism. Treating the hyperthyroidism (which may include methimazole) should help those symptoms once the thyroid hormone levels normalize.

?: Not sure exactly what you are asking. Thyroid hormone imbalance hypo or hyper can definitely can definetely cause changes in affect. Hypo is most likely to cause depression and hyper is most likely to cause manic type symptoms. Presumably correction of thyroid level would at least decrease affective symptoms, but still may require treatment. Discuss with your doctor.
